This post seems to have deleted itself from Blogspot...

Helen is the wife of our wonderful chanter Pete Frank. She's weathered cancer and I don't know what else, and had a bad fall on the ice Friday afternoon. She's at St. John's, some bones are shattered, and they can't operate. She and Pete have been married 68 years. Please pray.
(anyone else had a post mysteriously disappear? wrote it this morning, this evening it was GONE - but it was up long enough to import to my Facebook page...)

Civilla, thank you for your comment and your prayers. I don't know WHAT they're going to do, I have no idea what the chances are of what, and I'm frustrated because the lady who does our church e-mail list didn't provide any way of checking up on how things are going. We're going to swing by the hospital after taking our son to school tomorrow and see if we can get in to see her just by asking for Helen Frank's room, or if she's in ICU, in which case probably only family can visit. I don't even know THAT much. And the thought going through my head today, depressingly, was "Who will chant her funeral when she's Pete's wife and of course HE'LL be in no shape to do it, and I've done a funeral before but not for someone I know, and I don't think I could keep it together either." I guess thinking of worst-case scenarios and logistics keeps me from thinking about how bad this is.

I wanted to thank you for your comments and for the prayers and the good advice. I am currently home and healing. Everything went well. I did ask my doctor about the body binder belt and they gave me one at the hospital.
I will definitely also pray for yur friend...
