Trying out second app for blogging (Bloggeroid). Assuming the HTML does make the above words bold and italic, I may prefer this to Android Blogger.

Hi, you are right. It doesn't work... it worked, and I must broke it and my tests didn't show this...
Sorry, I will try to fix it...
RMK, are you the developer? Does "publish as draft" mean what I think it does, that I could send a draft to the actual drafts folder, i.e. start a post on my phone and finish on the real computer? Because hey, I don't use bold or italics that much, but being able to start on my phone and finish on the computer would be SO SWEET.
Yep, I'm a developer of Bloggeroid ;-)
Yes, publish as draft will create draft entry in Blogger, but this entry will be visible only in Blogger editor (or in Bloggeroid when you will use Menu -> Load existing posts -> from Blog), not on blog (to moment when you will decide to publish it :-)).
I'm using it sometimes in this way as you described it, so I'm starting to write on my phone, and finish on computer.
Holy cow! Just tried it and it works! That is so awesome! This totally makes my night! Bloggeroid is my app of choice now, definitely!
THANK YOU!!!
:D
